Frequently Asked Questions for HeroSE

How do I correctly store away my Snuza HeroSE over a long period of time?

If you would like to store away your Snuza HeroSE over a long period of time, please remove the battery and place the device in its protective carry case. Do not store in a damp area.

Why does my Snuza HeroSE movement light flash red and it beeps (like a low battery alert, but I have replaced the battery recently)?

If no abdominal movement has been detected for 15 seconds, the HeroSE will gently vibrate in an attempt to rouse your baby. The Alarm Indicator Light flashes simultaneously. When your Snuza HeroSE flashes red and you can hear the audible alarm, you need to immediately check on your baby. This alert is activated when no abdominal movement has been detected for 20 seconds.

Which replacement battery does my Snuza HeroSE use?

If you would like to purchase a battery for the Snuza Hero with the letters 'SE' next to the name (HeroSE), the substitute battery that can be purchased is the Primary-cell Energizer CR2 or Primary-cell Duracell CR2. No re-chargeable batteries to be used.

If you have an older model, the Snuza Hero (Non-SE) model, you can use a SAFT LS14250 3.6V Lithium Thionyl Chloride 1/2 AA battery. No re-chargeable batteries to be used.

These can be purchased at most battery or camera retailers. Please purchase reputable brand batteries only.

How do I switch my Snuza HeroSE off?

Why is the audible tick of my Snuza HeroSE switching itself on?

Why doesn't my HeroSE connect to the Snuza Connect app?

The Snuza HeroSE is not designed to connect to an app. Only the Snuza Pico 2 has the ability to connect to the Snuza Connect app and has additional features compared to the Snuza HeroSE.

The Snuza HeroSE was designed to monitor your baby's breathing movements, by clipping onto your baby's diaper or elasticised pants. If no breathing movement is detected after 15 seconds, the HeroSE will vibrate to rouse your baby. If no breathing movement is still detected after a further 5 seconds (total 20 seconds) an audible alarm will sound to alert you/caregivers to respond quickly and intervene.

If you have any questions please contact support@snuza.com

Does the Snuza HeroSE need to touch my baby's skin?

No, your Snuza HeroSE does not need to directly touch your baby's skin.

Your Snuza monitor can be clipped onto the folded waistband of the diaper or elasticated pants, as long as the Movement Sensor touches your baby in their tummy area. Your baby may also wear a thin layer of clothing (Eg. a vest) between the Movement Sensor and the skin, but you'll need to ensure that the Movement sensor maintains contact. The HeroSE can also be used if your baby is dressed in light clothing (Eg. A Babygro) over the nappy or pants.

Please keep in mind that too much clothing may muffle the alarm, which needs to be heard clearly if your little one is covered with clothing or blankets.
