If you won't be using your Snuza HeroSE for an extended period, we recommend the following:
Remove the battery. This helps prevent potential battery leakage, which could damage the device.
Store the HeroSE in its protective carry case to help protect it from dust and accidental damage.
Store the device in a cool, dry place. Avoid damp or humid environments.
Before using the HeroSE again, insert a new or fully charged CR2 (CR15270) primary (non-rechargeable) lithium battery if required, and perform the start-up test to ensure the device is operating correctly.
After replacing the battery, the HeroSE may still flash a red indicator light. This is normal and does not indicate a fault with the device.
To reset the HeroSE, press the ON/OFF (6) and MODE/OFF (7) buttons simultaneously to switch the device off. Then switch it on again. During the start-up test, the Battery Indicator Light should flash green, confirming that the battery is OK and the HeroSE is ready for use.
If the HeroSE continues to activate notifications after being reset, ensure that the battery is installed correctly, the Battery Cover is securely fitted, and that you are using a recommended CR2 (CR15270) primary (non-rechargeable) lithium battery, such as an Energizer CR2 or Duracell CR2.
For the Snuza HeroSE, use a CR2 (CR15270) primary (non-rechargeable) lithium battery. We recommend using an Energizer CR2 or Duracell CR2 battery. Rechargeable batteries should not be used.
For older Snuza Hero (non-SE) models, use a SAFT LS14250 3.6V Lithium Thionyl Chloride ½ AA battery.
Replacement batteries are available from most battery, electronics, and camera retailers. Always use a reputable brand and the recommended battery type.
To switch the HeroSE off, press both the ON/OFF (6) and MODE/OFF (7) buttons simultaneously. A shutdown tone will be heard and movement monitoring will stop.
The Audible Tick does not switch on automatically during normal operation. If you hear a ticking sound with each detected movement activity, the Audible Tick feature has been enabled.
To turn the Audible Tick off, ensure the HeroSE is switched on and briefly press the MODE/OFF button until the ticking stops. The Audible Tick cycles through low, medium, high, and off with each brief press of the MODE/OFF button.
If the ticking persists or the HeroSE is not operating as expected, please contact Snuza Support for further assistance.
No. The notification timing on the Snuza HeroSE is fixed and cannot be adjusted.
The HeroSE is designed to activate a Vibration Notification after 15 seconds of no detected movement activity. If no movement activity is detected for a continuous period of 20 seconds, the Audible Notification will sound.
These notification timings are built into the HeroSE and cannot be changed by the user.
If your Snuza HeroSE is not activating the Vibration Notification when no movement is detected, first ensure that the HeroSE is switched on, the battery has sufficient charge, and the Movement Sensor is in firm contact with your child's tummy.
If the HeroSE still does not activate the Vibration Notification after confirming correct fitment and battery status, and your device is within the 12-month warranty period, please contact our Customer Care team for further assistance.
If your Snuza HeroSE does not switch on with the supplied battery, first try replacing it with a new CR2 (CR15270) primary (non-rechargeable) lithium battery. We recommend using an Energizer CR2 or Duracell CR2 battery.
If the HeroSE still does not operate correctly, switch the device OFF, remove the battery for 10 seconds, and do not press any buttons while the battery is removed. Reinsert the battery, but do not switch the HeroSE on. If the HeroSE immediately activates an Audible Notification and the Battery Indicator Light flashes red, and your device is still within the 12-month warranty period, please contact our Customer Care team for further assistance.
If your Snuza HeroSE is not detecting movement, check the following:
1. Ensure the Movement Sensor is in firm contact with your baby's tummy.
2. Check that the HeroSE is securely clipped onto the folded waistband of the diaper/nappy and has not shifted position.
3. Verify that the battery has sufficient charge.
4. Inspect the Movement Sensor for any signs of damage. A bent or damaged sensor tip may affect movement detection.
For detailed fitting instructions, please refer to Section 6 ā Diaper/Nappy Fitment and Section 7 ā Fitting your HeroSE in the User Manual.
If the HeroSE is correctly fitted and continues not to detect movement activity, please contact our Customer Care team for further assistance.
The Snuza HeroSE should remain switched off once it has been powered down correctly.
To switch the HeroSE off, press the ON/OFF and MODE/OFF buttons simultaneously. A shutdown tone will sound to confirm that the device has switched off and movement monitoring has stopped.
If your HeroSE appears to switch on by itself after being switched off correctly, or repeatedly powers back on without pressing the buttons, this is not normal behaviour. Please contact our Customer Care team for further assistance if your device is within the 12-month warranty period.
False alarms are most commonly caused by incorrect fitment or the Movement Sensor losing firm contact with your baby's tummy.
Please check the following:
1. Ensure the HeroSE is securely clipped onto the folded waistband of the diaper/nappy using the full extent of the clip.
2. Confirm that the Movement Sensor is in firm contact with your baby's tummy. A thin layer of clothing may be worn between the sensor and the skin, provided firm contact is maintained.
3. Check that the diaper/nappy fits snugly. As your baby grows and becomes more active, the HeroSE may need to be repositioned to maintain proper contact.
If the HeroSE is correctly fitted, the Movement Sensor is undamaged, and false alarms continue, please contact our Customer Care team if your device is within the 12-month warranty period.
Continuous beeping may indicate that the battery is depleted or that the HeroSE has activated an Audible Notification.
First, check the Battery Indicator Light. If the battery is low or depleted, replace it with a new CR2 (CR15270) primary (non-rechargeable) lithium battery. We recommend using an Energizer CR2 or Duracell CR2 battery.
If you've recently replaced the battery and the HeroSE continues to beep, switch the device off by pressing the ON/OFF and MODE/OFF buttons simultaneously, then switch it on again.
If the issue persists after replacing the battery and restarting the HeroSE, and your device is still within the 12-month warranty period, please contact Snuza Customer Support for further assistance.
Battery life depends on how the Snuza HeroSE is used. Frequent notifications, long periods of daily use, and repeatedly switching the device on and off can all reduce battery life.
To maximise battery life:
Switch the HeroSE OFF after each use. A shutdown tone will confirm that the device has switched off.
Use only a CR2 (CR15270) primary (non-rechargeable) lithium battery. We recommend an Energizer CR2 or Duracell CR2 battery.
If the HeroSE is activating frequent notifications, check that it is correctly fitted and that the Movement Sensor is in firm contact with your baby's tummy, as repeated notifications will increase battery consumption.
Under typical use (approximately 8 hours per day), the battery typically lasts 4ā6 months.
If you are using a recommended battery and it continues to drain unusually quickly despite correct use, and your HeroSE is still within the 12-month warranty period, please contact Snuza Customer Support for further assistance.
The Snuza HeroSE is a standalone movement monitor and does not connect to the Snuza Connect app, a smartphone, or a parent unit. It operates independently and does not require an internet or Bluetooth connection.
If you're looking for app connectivity and additional features such as movement monitoring, skin surface temperature, body position, and sleep insights, the Snuza Pico 2 is compatible with the Snuza Connect app.
No. The Movement Sensor does not have to touch your baby's skin directly, but it must maintain firm contact with your baby's tummy for reliable movement monitoring.
The HeroSE should be clipped securely onto the folded waistband of the diaper/nappy or the waistband of elasticated pants, ensuring that the Movement Sensor remains in firm contact with your baby's tummy. A thin layer of clothing, such as a vest, may be worn between the Movement Sensor and the skin, provided firm contact is maintained.
Your baby may also wear light clothing, such as a babygrow, over the diaper/nappy or pants to which the HeroSE is attached. However, avoid excessive layers of clothing, as these may muffle the Audible Notification and make it more difficult to hear.
